San Francisco officials say they want to make it easier for hotel and motel owners throughout The City to partner with local agencies and departments to establish temporary shelters to combat ongoing homelessness.
The Board of Supervisors’ Land Use and Transportation Committee is considering an ordinance that would amend The City’s building and planning codes, allowing hotel and motel owners to submit interim-housing-site applications without losing their classifications as lodging establishments.
