Bay Area retail theft ring dismantled with arrest and recovery of stolen goods

OAKLAND, California — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) announced the arrest of a suspect linked to an organized retail theft ring and the recovery of stolen merchandise valued at over $779,000. The arrest follows an investigation by the Golden Gate Division’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force (ORCTF).In July 2024, the ORCTF began investigating a criminal network targeting businesses across the Bay Area. Surveillance operations led to the discovery of a fencing operation in Oakland. On February 27, 2025, the task force executed a search warrant at an Oakland residence and two storage facilities, marking their second search in six months.
