Controversial SF boba shop at risk of eviction over allegedly unpaid rent

A Boba Guys location in San Francisco is at risk of eviction after allegedly owing thousands of dollars in backlogged rent, according to a recent complaint.

Boba Guys Inc. and 25 other individuals were served with an unlawful detainer complaint for the Hayes Valley store at 8 Octavia St., as first reported by the San Francisco Business Times . According to the complaint filed on April 25 at the San Francisco County Superior Court, Boba Guys owes $32,019.83 in rent.

The lawyer representing landlord HFGO Investors LLC. claims Boba Guys started accumulating overdue fees on Dec. 31, 2024. At the time, the boba shop chain owners allegedly owed $7,283.31 in taxes and insurance.
