San Francisco’s Downtown to Come Alive with Free Summer Concert Series

It’s that time of the year again when San Francisco’s downtown transforms into an open concert hall without the confined walls. Mayor Daniel Lurie and Another Planet Entertainment, in collaboration with the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, are bringing back the free downtown concert series, which garnered substantial public attention last year. The success of the previous year has paved the way for the return of this lively musical tradition. The 2025 lineup will feature renowned labels again, with the Embarcadero Plaza, Union Square, and Civic Center Plaza turning into the stages for world-class headliners and the pulsating local scene starting June 14.

According to the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department website, these concerts have pulled in the crowds and worked as a booster for neighborhood businesses, nearly tripling the foot traffic compared with a usual Sunday. The Mayor has been clear about his intentions to revitalize the downtown area, tackling issues ranging from public safety to bureaucratic hassles, and transforming the city center into what one could describe as a “24/7 neighborhood”…
