Gunfire erupts in Richmond’s Target parking lot

Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday evening at the Target shopping center on Macdonald Avenue around 6:35 p.m., authorities said.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and determined a shooting had occurred, according to Lt. Donald Patchin, chief of staff for the Richmond Police Department.

“One vehicle was struck, no people were hit. Investigators are working the case,” Patchin said.

Officers taped off a large portion of the parking lot closest to the DaVita Dialysis center and dropped several evidence markers on the ground…
