Urban Alchemy , the nonprofit responsible for San Francisco’s street safety ambassador program, is set to lay off 57 staff members due to ongoing funding challenges.
The layoffs, which will affect workers in the BART and Tenderloin divisions, are scheduled to begin on June 30, according to a notice filed with California’s Employment Development Department.
