A Richmond District staple for piroshkies and honey cake will head to the Mission District. Cinderella Bakery will take over the former La Victoria location on 24th Street by the end of 2025. It’s a merging of iconic bakeries: Cinderella has served the city since 1953, while La Victoria brought joy to Calle 24 for 68 years before closing in 2018. Mission Local confirmed the news; that outlet originally reported Cinderella’s owners Mike and Marika Fishman buying the building back in 2018.
At the time, the nonprofit Calle 24 objected to a Russian bakery taking over a space that previously belonged to a historic Mexican bakery.
