Delivery driver off the hook for fatally stabbing woman during three-way knife fight over stolen van

A judge has thrown out a murder case against a delivery driver who chased down his own stolen van from Oakland to Berkeley and got into a fatal scuffle with the people who had taken it.

Raymond Johnson of Downey had also faced charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon following a January melee that left Laura Janet Nunez Antonio dead, and Johnson and the other person involved in the van heist hospitalized. Johnson suffered a punctured lung and perforated liver and the other man, Jalen Marsean Carr-Harris of Oakland, several stab wounds to the leg.

Deputy District Attorney James Logan moved for dismissal Thursday “due to insufficient evidence” and Judge Jason Chin granted the motion, according to court records.More information on the underpinnings of the motion were not immediately available, from prosecutors or Johnson’s attorney…
