‘Devastating’ fire obliterates cult favorite San Francisco brand’s factory

A devastating fire destroyed the Oakland sewing factory where trendy San Francisco fashion brand Nooworks manufactured all its clothing for the past 15 years, according to the company.

Although the label known for its limited-run garments with flashy prints did not specify the date or exact location of the fire, it wrote in a May 5 Instagram post that the blaze consumed all of its current inventory in production, as well as its vast archive of highly sought-after patterns.

“We’re incredibly relieved to report that no one was hurt,” Nooworks wrote in a statement, “but sadly the factory was destroyed beyond repair. We lost all of our current production to the fire, as well as our archive of physical patterns and countless remnants from seasons past.”
