‘Exploding bird’ mystery plagues California neighborhood with residents concerned

Neighbors are confused by a recent phenomenon of birds “exploding” in Northern California.

Several residents living in the Bay Area community of Richmond, just north of San Francisco, have reported finding birds dead around their properties. According to ABC News, one security camera caught the death of a feathered creature on video, and the footage is mind-boggling.

The footage shows a bird sitting on a power line, when a “pop” sound occurs and it falls to its death. It’s estimated that 50 birds have been found dead.
