Jewelry smash-and-grab suspect arrested in Daly City

(KRON) – A man was caught in the parking lot of a shopping center where he committed a brazen jewelry store robbery in Daly City, according to authorities.

Around 5:05 p.m. on May 6, Daly City Police Department officers responded to the Zales Jewelers in the Serramonte Center for the report of a robbery. An employee informed police that a male suspect entered the store and attempted to break the tempered glass display of rings with a key, but failed. The suspect then smashed the display with a wooden mallet. The employee told authorities the suspect placed the jewelry in his pockets.

Daly City PD looking for suspect in jewelry heist

Daly City PD said officers found the suspect walking in the shopping center parking lot shortly after the robbery.

The suspect was identified as a 22-year-old transient. He was arrested and booked into a county jail for robbery, receiving stolen property and vandalism…
