Armed robbery at California tourist attraction ends when traffic gridlock thwarts suspects’ getaway

SAN FRANCISCO – A violent robbery unfolded at the peak of one of San Francisco’s most iconic tourist attractions on May 18, when police say four suspects targeted a victim on top of the world-famous crooked section of Lombard Street.

According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers were called to the 1100 block of Lombard Street just after 4 p.m. following reports of an armed robbery.
