PHOTOS: Broken glass everywhere after punching spree at SF Mission District restaurant

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The owners of a decades-old Mission District restaurant say they have filed a report with the San Francisco Police Department after its food shields were completely smashed by a “very angry man.”

The incident happened around 11 a.m. Tuesday. Photos obtained by KRON4 show large chunks of shattered glass covering the food counter at Wan Kee Restaurant, located at 2152 Mission St.

According to the owners, a “visibly agitated” man walked into the restaurant and demanded food. He started punching the glass after he was allegedly told he had to buy something if he wanted it.

“He took his fist and started smashing our display glass on top of the food counter,” said Wan Kee Restaurant. “He then started running away and we chased him for about three blocks.”

The restaurant said the man was eventually apprehended near a thrift store after they were able to flag down an SFPD patrol vehicle in the area…
