Burglars target wealthy Bay Area suburb with back-to-back break-ins

Burglars ransacked two Hillsborough residences Thursday evening in the wealthy Peninsula suburb known for its large estates and mansions, according to police.

Officers responded around 6:35 p.m. to a residential alarm on the 2000 block of Forest View Avenue, where suspects entered a home by breaking a rear glass door, according to the Hillsborough Police Department. The suspects fled before officers arrived.

Later the same night, police responded to a second call around 10:54 p.m. at a home on the 800 block of Chiltern Road, Hillsborough police said. Security footage showed two people entering the home around 5:30 p.m. through an “unsecured door,” police said…
