Oakland business looted following anti-ICE protest

ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) — A group of suspected looters was arrested Tuesday night in Oakland after ransacking a shoe store. The incident comes after what started out as a peaceful protest and vigil at the Fruitvale BART Station over U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests and the National Guard being deployed to Los Angeles.

The large group of people was caught on camera racing up to businesses on International Boulevard Tuesday night. One suspect is seen on video swinging a sledgehammer and banging on the security door of Sheikh Shoes. The group was spotted taking armfuls of merchandise and causing property damage.

A car was seen in the area engulfed in flames.
