Oakland man steals $10K worth of Nintendo Switch games from Marin County libraries: sheriff

(KRON) — An Oakland man was arrested in connection with stealing approximately $10,000 worth of Nintendo Switch video games from libraries across Marin County, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday in a social media post. Jamal Reed-Obafumi, 45, was arrested Tuesday and is accused of stealing from at least seven different libraries in the county.

The sheriff’s office said Reed-Obafumi stole the video games between April and June 2025. MCSO posted a photo of the arrest being made in the picture below.

Reed-Obafumi was booked into Marin County Jail and is facing 12 felony charges, which include burglary counts and committing a felony while out on bail.
