At 11:54 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service in San Francisco, California issued an updated coastal flood advisory that took effect from Monday at 8 p.m. until Tuesday at 1 a.m. Additionally, San Francisco County is included in the advisory, which covers the interior valleys of the North Bay and the shoreline of the San Francisco Bay.
“Minor coastal flooding is expected during nocturnal high tide,” the National Weather Service (NWS) explains. As a consequence of the nocturnal high tide, low-lying areas within the San Francisco Bay Area may experience some degree of coastal flooding. As of Monday evening at 10:08 p.m., the high tide in San Francisco is 7.03 feet.
“Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected,” according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency. If you need to travel, you should give yourself additional time because there is a possibility that some roads will be closed.
