Reno toddler thriving after groundbreaking laser brain surgery

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -A Reno toddler diagnosed with a rare brain tumor is thriving today thanks to a groundbreaking laser surgery performed at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

Just one year ago, Roger Andrew’s parents were searching for answers. It started with subtle, odd behaviors that his mom, Jackie Laxalt, thought might be a harmless tic.

“Oh, it’s a little side eye, he’s just being silly,” she recalled. “But it progressed and got worse. We noticed his speech had regressed and he was forgetting his sign language.”…
