Alameda County DA declines to file charges in homicide case: PD

(KRON) — The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has declined to file charges against possible suspects in Fremont’s first homicide case of 2025, according to the Fremont Police Department.

One person was shot to death and another was shot and injured during an argument on the 39000 block of Overacker Avenue in Fremont at approximately 6:42 p.m. on June 20, the Fremont Police Department said.

“Detectives immediately began pursuing investigative leads, which consisted of obtaining numerous witness statements, reviewing several types of video footage, and serving several search warrants,” FPD said in a statement on June 27.

During the investigation, FPD identified “all the parties involved” in the shooting, FPD said. The shooting was allegedly related to an ongoing argument between two groups of people over a parking space along nearby train tracks…
