SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Nearly 100 people were arrested Wednesday during a one-day enforcement operation focused on fugitives with outstanding warrants, the San Francisco Police Department announced Thursday. SFPD and other participating agencies made 97 arrests in what Interim Chief Paul Yep characterized as the latest step in dismantling drug markets around the city.
Of the 97 arrested, SFPD said 79 had arrest warrants. A total of 16.5 grams of suspected narcotics were seized during the operation, including suspected fentanyl, cocaine base, and methamphetamine.

Officers from the SFPD Fugitive Recovery Team (FRET) took part in the operation along with officers from the DMACC 6th Street Foot Beat, SFPD Honda Unit, Healthy Streets Operation Center (HSOC), Narcotics Unit, Narcotics Drug Recognition Expert Team, Tenderloin Patrol, Tenderloin Violence Reduction Team (VRT), Tenderloin Plainclothes Team, Mission Patrol and Plainclothes Team, San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, and Adult Parole.
“Last night, 97 fugitives were arrested in an operation concentrated in the Tenderloin and 16th and Mission,” said San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie in a post on X. “Thank you SFPD, SF Sheriff’s Office, and all our law enforcement partners for this coordinated action — another step forward in our city’s fight against open-air drug markets and crime.”…
