Upscale Walnut Creek Restaurant Calls it Quits After Just 1.5 Years, Taking Amazing Steak With It

WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA – Only about 1.5 years after its grand reopening, a Walnut Creek, California restaurant has already closed its doors, surprising many people in the city.

The place was known as BH Wood Fired Grill. It came in to replace the Bounty Hunter restaurant, which had itself closed down in 2024.

The Bounty Hunter restaurant always seemed to confuse people a bit. It has a location up in Napa, which is still there, but the one in Walnut Creek looked more like an upscale clothing store than a restaurant.

Don’t get me wrong—the inside was great, and the food was excellent too. I stopped by in the Bounty Hunter days to review it for the Bay Area Telegraph, and inside the largely windowless space, both the food and the ambience were excellent…
