Deadly fireworks explosion: Officers raid San Francisco home linked to owner of company

Police on Tuesday raided a San Francisco home linked to the owner of the fireworks company whose property exploded last week in the Yolo County farm town of Esparto, killing seven people.

The afternoon search of the home on the 400 block of Second Avenue in the Inner Richmond was first reported by Hoodline San Francisco, which said it witnessed deputies from the Yolo County and Sacramento County sheriff’s offices, with assistance from San Francisco police officers, raiding the gray two-story house.

Detective Sina Ghaffarpour, a spokesperson for the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, confirmed that members of his agency’s bomb squad helped with the operation. “We were there on a mutual aid request,” he said. “I believe they were serving a search warrant related to the investigation of the Esparto fire.”

No law enforcement remained at the scene as of 4:30 p.m. The lights were off and the blinds were closed at the residence. A Chronicle reporter had knocked on the door Tuesday morning, with no one answering…
