Firefighters battle blaze on S.F.’s Treasure Island

A fire broke out in an abandoned three-story building on Treasure Island Sunday morning, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

The department put out an advisory on the social media platform X at 8:16 a.m., asking residents to avoid the area around Fourth Avenue and Avenue H “while firefighters extinguish the flames.”  A video posted showed a thick plume of smoke billowing from behind a grove of trees.

No injuries were reported,  and firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in less than an hour, according to the department…
