A Bay Area “Pokémon bandit” accused of stealing trading cards was arrested last week after being involved in a crash, police said.
On July 7, the suspect allegedly met up with two people from an online marketplace to buy Pokémon cards at the 100 block of Nugent Drive in Vallejo, the Vallejo Police Department wrote in a Facebook post. The suspect asked to inspect the trading cards but allegedly took off with them while riding an electric scooter, police said.
When the sellers tried to stop the suspect from leaving the area, the suspect allegedly pepper-sprayed one of them in the face. The sellers were able to recover the stolen trading cards, which were worth $2,600, and reported the suspect to police…
