Two years after he was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for bilking his clients and longtime business partner, disgraced structural engineer and permit expeditor Rodrigo Santos and his associates have reached a $1.4 million settlement with the office of San Francisco City Attorney David Chiu.
As part of the settlement, Santos, who formerly served as a member and president of the San Francisco Building Inspection Commission, is also barred from holding an engineering license for five years.
The settlement stems from a 2018 lawsuit filed by the city attorney’s office against Santos, Albert Urrutia and their construction engineering firm, Santos & Urrutia Inc.
