The Western coast of the US has been experiencing unusually cool weather lately, but things might be about to change, especially for San Luis Obispo.
The cooler weather is mainly due to the marine layer, with fog and mist keeping coastal regional temperatures lower than usual. In San Francisco, so far, it’s been the city’s coldest summer since 1982.
In fact, the entire state of California has been experiencing much cooler weather than normal thanks to the marine layer along the West Coast. During summer, warmer air and cool water create a denser marine layer, which has helped cool much of the Golden State this year.
