The San Francisco Police Department is offering a $175,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person responsible for fatally shooting a man in the city’s Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood in 2010.
Delmond “Blackbird” Carter was fixing a car in a parking lot at La Salle Avenue and Ingalls Street in the early morning hours of May 15, 2010 when an unknown suspect shot and killed him, police said. Carter, 31, was found shot at 7 a.m., according to a 2010 Chronicle report, which added that residents told police they heard shots at 3:30 a.m.
Carter was in and out of jail for much of his life and contributed to the Beat Within, a publication of writings from behind bars, in the late 1990s, the Chronicle reported…
