A San Francisco community is mourning the loss of Colden Kimber, a 28-year-old cyclist who was stabbed to death while reportedly trying to shield women and children from a man brandishing a knife at a Muni stop. The tragic incident occurred last Saturday around 4 PM, as Kimber awaited a K-line train with his girlfriend on Ocean Avenue in Ingleside, according to The San Francisco Standard. Witnesses, including two children aged 8 and 14, watched as the suspect, identified as Sean Collins, 29, allegedly made threatening and derogatory comments before turning violently on Kimber.
According to reports, Kimber, who stood at 6-foot-4, had positioned himself between Collins and others present to intervene should the situation escalate. In a sudden and unprovoked attack, as the train approached, Collins is accused of having stabbed Kimber in the neck. Despite Kimber’s efforts to defend himself and detain Collins, he succumbed to his injuries after being transported to San Francisco General Hospital.
