Two women are facing multiple charges after an attempted carjacking turned into a kidnapping in the heart of Sonoma wine country this weekend.
Officials from the Healdsburg Police Department said a man and woman were attacked after trying to assist a woman they thought was in trouble. The husband and wife, who are married and in their 70s, stopped at Byron Gibbs Park late Sunday afternoon to use the restroom, when they saw a woman who was asking for help.
When they went to help her, the woman allegedly pulled out a handgun and demanded the couple’s personal belongings and vehicle. The suspect allegedly hit the man’s wife in the head with a handgun, causing bleeding. Police said the suspect was accompanied by two other individuals in the car…
