Shots fired at OPD officers responding to reported domestic violence

(KRON) — A domestic violence suspect shot at Oakland Police Department officers early Friday morning before being taken into custody, according to authorities.

Police responded around 1:30 a.m. to the 1000 block of West Grand Avenue on the report of domestic violence involving two child victims and an adult victim. Arriving officers “announced and identified themselves as police” before gunfire rang out in the direction of police, OPD said.

Officers were able to remove the victims from danger while the suspect, who was not identified by police, was arrested.
