A tragic accident in Burlingame has left a 4-year-old boy dead and a 6-year-old girl injured after a chain-reaction crash involving an electric bike and a car.
According to the Burlingame Police Department, the incident happened just before 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8, in the 1200 block of Donnelly Avenue. Officers arrived to find two children who had been hit by a car while standing on the sidewalk in front of a restaurant.
Police say the crash began when a car was pulling out of a driveway and was struck by an e-bike traveling east on Donnelly Avenue. The impact caused the car to speed forward across the street, jump the curb, and crash into the Truffle Poke Bar Restaurant…
