(KRON) — Eight masked robbers rammed their way into an Oakland jewelry store using a truck and held the owner at gunpoint Monday night, according to a fundraiser. The Oakland Police Department confirmed that officers arrived on the scene just before 1:45 p.m. in the 700 block of International Blvd. on a report of a robbery.
Arriving officers observed significant damage to the front of the business. identified in the fundraiser as Kim Tin Jewelry. OPD said an employee told them a vehicle had been used to ram the store. Armed individuals then entered the store and stole items before leaving.
The vehicle used in the ramming, described in the fundraiser as a large truck, was also left at the scene, police said.
