“Dispatch, There’s Been a Crash… and I Think I’m It…”
A Lafayette PD Dep/Off found himself in an automotive sandwich outside Diablo Foods in Lafayette around 2:15pm this afternoon… and then smelled something burning and realized it was his car.
The officer emptied at least one extinguisher on what turned out to be his smoldering trunk and local firefighters brought some extras to apply the finishing touches.
Whilst checking on other involved drivers the rear-ended lawman spotted an open container in the rear-rammer’s car and – sadly for the alleged day drinker – the bracelets went on…
