Bay Area police: Online threats lead to arrest for suspected illegal firearm, fentanyl

A Millbrae man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an illegal firearm and fentanyl after deputies investigated online threats and a gun discharge, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Anthony D. Roberts, 27, on Thursday after receiving information a day earlier that he was sending messages suggesting violence toward others or himself, the sheriff’s office said.

Roberts said in his messages that he fired a gun inside his apartment building on the 100 block of North Rollins Road and included a photo of a bullet hole in a wall, the sheriff’s office said…
