A man arrested for an alleged sexual assault case in El Cerrito from May has been charged with multiple felonies, police said Wednesday.
In the early hours of Saturday, May 17, a female at the Del Norte BART station was contacted by a suspect and then abducted. The suspect took her to the Ohlone Greenway between Hill and Black streets and sexually assaulted her sometime between midnight and 1:30 a.m.
Investigators entered a DNA sample from the suspect into the Combined DNA Index System used by law enforcement known as “CODIS,” and there was a “hit.” An arrest warrant was issued for Malachi Attaway, 18, and he was taken into custody on Aug. 13 as he left court in Martinez on a separate case…
