It’s a one-and-a-quarter-mile swim from Alcatraz to the San Francisco shore. DiBernardo is using the swim as a fundraiser for the Embrace House. It’s a nonprofit dedicated to helping victims of human trafficking. DiBernardo made this swim over 30 years ago when he was in his early 40s. He’s 71 now, but says he’s been training hard, he feels good, and he’s ready to go. So far, he has raised over $30,000. You can help him reach his goal of 50-thousand dollars HERE.
