Watch San Francisco police spike their own tires

There are bad days, and then there are worse days. A San Francisco police unit had one of the second type on Wednesday, when a chaotic chase caused an officer to drive across SFPD’s own spike strip.

This video comes courtesy of TikTok account Tenderloin Activities (@tl2active). The San Francisco Police Department spotted a silver Audi sedan with tinted windows and ran its plates. Turns out the car was wanted in connection with robberies in Los Angeles. Police originally spotted it at Jones Street and Golden Gate Avenue. Officers chased the car and used two cruisers to block it in.

In the video, you can see a marked Ford Interceptor Utility and an unmarked Ford Crown Victoria block the Audi. Officers sprint toward the silver car and try to break its windows with their batons. Another officer throws a spike strip in front of the silver sedan…
