S.F. parking dispute devolves into gun threat, police chase

What began as a parking dispute near Lake Merced over the weekend erupted into an altercation involving gun threats, a stolen cellphone and a police chase through city streets, San Francisco police said.

Around 7:44 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to the 500 block of John Muir Drive after reports of a possible shooting. Just before they reached the scene, responding officers witnessed the reported shooter’s vehicle beginning to drive away, according to police.

The officers tried to make a traffic stop but the driver failed to yield, prompting a pursuit that ended about 4 miles away when officers lost sight of the vehicle around Alemany Boulevard and Interstate 280, officials said…
