S.F. police probe potential homicide after reports of pepper spray fight

San Francisco police are investigating the suspicious death of a man who was found unresponsive at a South of Market apartment complex after what initial reports said was an altercation involving pepper spray.

Around 11:13 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 800 block of Brannan Street on a report of two people involved in a physical altercation.

Police found one man unconscious at the scene and rendered aid until paramedics arrived and declared him deceased. Investigators with the Medical Examiner’s Office responded and declared the death suspicious…
