Two men were charged Tuesday in connection with a 2023 fatal drive-by shooting of a man in the Bayview, the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office said. Teangelo Harrison, 22, and Tommy Thompson, 28, were both charged with murder in connection with the drive-by shooting and murder of 23-year-old Dwayne Marcus Garyson, which occurred on Aug. 11, 2023, according to the DA’s office. The two men were arrested last week. The day of the deadly shooting, according to court documents, Harrison and Thompson allegedly observed Garyson on a dirt bike and pursued him, armed with a gun and two magazines. Allegedly, the two caught up with Garyson on the 1900 block of Keith Street, where Harrison leaned out of the front window and shot at Garyson repeatedly, hitting him and causing him to crash. Harrison and Thompson then fled the scene, prosecutors said. Garyson initially survived the shooting and underwent multiple surgeries before succumbing to his injuries on Oct. 8, 2023, the DA’s office said. Surveillance footage captured the alleged shooting as well as Harrison and Thompson allegedly dropping off the vehicle, which was later recovered by the San Francisco police. The two men were scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. In addition to the murder charge, the two men are charged with three gun-related crimes. Harrison was also charged with one count of carrying a loaded firearm without a registered owner.
