San Francisco security guard slain in Oakland

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A man who worked as a security guard in San Francisco was slain while he was walking home in Oakland, his loved ones said.

Tony Norman, 67, was shot to death while he as walking on 17th Street on August 27, according to the Oakland Police Department. Norman never made it home. Family members said the longtime security guard was killed in crossfire from “senseless gun violence.”

“Tony was a hardworking man who spent years providing security for various SROs in San Francisco. Originally from North Carolina, he built a life … and dedicated himself to the family he created here in California, his faith, and his community,” a GoFundMe page states…
