Gleaming lowriders from across the U.S. chugged and bounced through San Francisco’s Mission District on Saturday.
The parade of 500 vintage cars drew hundreds of admirers throughout the afternoon to mark the city’s Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month.
The event, broadcast on live television for the first time this year, featured a “King of the Streets” hopping competition. Cars bearing rolling artworks adorned with exquisite details — orange flames on pointy fenders, gold-plated undercarriages, purple rims — cruised along Mission Street as their sound systems boomed bass beats…
