Dog dies in SF apartment fire; five displaced

(KRON) — Five people are without homes, and a dog is dead after a fire damaged a six-story apartment on the 20 block of Crestline Drive near Burnett Avenue in San Francisco Sunday.

The San Francisco Fire Department responded to the apartment fire at 12:26 p.m., and firefighters helped some of the residents evacuate the building.

“During the rapidly evolving operation, firefighters rescued a dog,” SFFD said. “Despite life-saving measures provided by San Francisco Fire Paramedics, including CPR, the pet was sadly pronounced deceased due to the fire.”

No people were injured in the fire, SFFD said. The American Red Cross is providing aid to the building’s tenants…
