‘He’s a monster’: Six Flags employee arrested after woman found dead in secret Vallejo attic

The days-long search for a missing 28-year-old Berkeley woman concluded Tuesday night when police discovered her remains hidden inside the concealed attic of a storage shed in Vallejo where the suspected killer was living in squalor, according to police and the woman’s relatives.

Police arrested 41-year-old Douglas Irwin Shaw on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of Renia Lewis, according to the Vallejo Police Department. Records show officers arrested him Tuesday afternoon at the Six Flags on Fairgrounds Drive in Vallejo, where he worked.

Shaw confessed to detectives that he was “responsible for this heinous crime,” according to Vallejo police. But investigators and grieving family members are still searching for answers about the motive behind the killing.
