Former KTVU anchor Frank Somerville was charged with misdemeanor battery following an incident in which his girlfriend and her daughter alleged he assaulted them at his Oakland home last year.
Prosecutors filed the case last week, four days after the Chronicle published a report about the previously undisclosed episode. Somerville’s first court appearance was scheduled for Oct. 6.
Somerville, 67, has said he didn’t remember what happened and blamed his struggles with alcohol abuse. He previously said he was “completely drunk” and felt ashamed and guilty…
