San Rafael police officer acquitted of felony charges in 2022 beating case

A San Rafael police officer was acquitted Tuesday of criminal charges stemming from a 2022 on-duty encounter in which prosecutors said he punched a gardener in the face.

Following a weeks-long trial, a Marin County jury found Brandon Nail not guilty on felony charges of assault causing great bodily injury and filing a false police report, according to court records.
