Man assaulted after trying to stop theft at S.F. Walgreens

A man who tried to stop a shoplifter at a San Francisco Walgreens was assaulted Thursday night, San Francisco police officials said.

Just after 8 p.m., officers responded to the 3600 block of California Street regarding a “physical altercation.” While on scene, officers learned that the victim — an adult male who was shopping in the store — attempted to intervene when he noticed the suspect trying to shoplift.

During a physical altercation, the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim with an unknown object, before fleeing the scene. No arrests have been made, police officials said…
