SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — In San Francisco’s Inner Richmond, some residents have taken noise complaints into their own hands. They’re putting up signs hoping to deter people from using Waymos at night when, according to a sign, the driverless taxis overwhelm a quiet dead-end street.
Waymos are seemingly becoming an ever more common site on the streets of San Francisco. The autonomous vehicles are allowed now to make pickups on busy Market Street, but on the quiet residential corner of Lake Street and Second Avenue, the expansion isn’t welcomed by some.
A recent sign put up at the entrance of a turnaround in the middle of a Church and apartment complex reads, “No Waymos from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m! Waymo comes at all hours of the night and up to 7 times per hour with flashing lights and screaming reverse sounds waking people up and destroying quality of life.”…
