Despite President Donald Trump portraying San Francisco as a hotbed of crime, violent crime in the city has dropped to the lowest levels in decades.
The San Francisco Police Department’s (SFPD) tally shows there have been 22 homicides so far this year, compared to 26 at the same time in 2024. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, those numbers indicate the city is on track to have the lowest number of homicides since 1954.
