Lurie says S.F. police made ‘zero arrests’ during No Kings protest

No protesters were arrested in San Francisco or Oakland on Saturday as tens of thousands of people flocked to large gatherings to support American democracy, according to city officials.

Mayor Daniel Lurie said Tuesday that San Francisco police officers arrested no one in connection with the No Kings march down Market Street, which was one of dozens of demonstrations in the Bay Area and among thousands nationwide attended by roughly 7 million people.

“Zero arrests. Tens and tens of thousands of people coming out to demonstrate their First Amendment rights,” Lurie said in a video clip posted to social media. “They did it peacefully, they did it thoughtfully. I want to thank everybody who came out, and also I want to thank our law enforcement. That’s how we do it, San Francisco.”…
